Handmade Shampoo bars come in many different forms with many different ingredients and performance styles. You will usually find 2 different types:
1. Soap that is marketed as shampoo - usually the maker includes some sort of oils or additives they believe are good for hair. Usually a vinegar rinse and adjustment period is suggested. These have the PH level of soap which is different than what hair needs.
2. Syndet bars - which include a wide variety of ingredients that deliver a more PH balanced formulation for hair.
My Shampoo Bars are considered “Syndet” bars as opposed to Soap “shampoo bars”. For my formulation, I chose ingredients that are gentle and as naturally based as I could find and still get the results I want (“Syndet” shampoo bars are not considered natural). They contain no harsh sulfates or parabens and use a preservative that is considered natural.
